Gemini 3 Pro is in public preview for GitHub Copilot
Gemini 3 Pro, Google’s latest frontier model, is now rolling out and will be available in GitHub Copilot Pro, Pro+ Business, and Enterprise subscriptions. Rollout will be gradual. Check back soon if you don’t see it yet.
How it works
You’ll be able to select the model in the Copilot Chat model picker from:
- VS Code in Agent, Plan, Ask, and Edit mode
- github.com
- GitHub Mobile iOS and Android
- GitHub CLI
Enabling access

Enterprise and Business plans: Administrators must enable the Gemini 3 Pro policy in Copilot settings. Once enabled, users in that organization will see Gemini 3 Pro in supported surfaces.

Pro and Pro+ plans: Enable by selecting the model in the Visual Studio Code picker and confirming the one-time prompt.

Bring your own key: Select Manage Models from the picker, choose Gemini 3 Pro, and enter your API key when prompted.
