Claude Opus 4.1 is now generally available in GitHub Copilot

Availability in GitHub Copilot

Claude Opus 4.1 is available to Copilot Pro+ and Copilot Enterprise plans. You can access this model in GitHub Copilot Chat on github.com, VS Code, Visual Studio, JetBrains IDEs, Xcode, Eclipse, and in GitHub Mobile through the chat model picker.

Enabling access

Copilot Enterprise administrators must opt in by enabling the new Claude Opus 4.1 policy in Copilot settings. Once enabled, users in that organization will see the models in the model picker across all supported IDEs.

For Copilot Pro+ plans, enable either model by selecting it in the model picker in any supported IDE and confirming the one-time prompt.
